IT’S GOOD TO SHARE: LESSONS FROM THE SHARING ECONOMY

WHO: Parker Stanberry is the Co-Founder and CEO of Oasis, a curated portfolio of properties with hotel-like amenities he started in Buenos Aires in 2009 and that now encompasses over 2000 homes in over 20 destinations worldwide.

WHAT: The sharing economy continues to grow, with many savvy travellers choosing to use home-sharing services during their travels as a way to experience destinations from an insider, ‘like a local’ perspective. With Airbnb valued at $31 billion compared to Marriott’s $33 billion, traditional hotel companies should pay attention to the values of the sharing economy and incorporate some of its principles into their own offerings in order to meet the needs and interests of modern travellers.
