In one line, what makes you a PUREist?
I am passionate about creating travel experiences; I am obsessed with quality and truly happy to share these moments with my clients.
Tell us your story – how did you get where you are today?
Travel is in my blood, it is my passion. At 22 when my father encouraged me to open my own business I had no doubt I wanted to work in this industry. Back then the agency counted on five people, but soon we launched a corporate division, a MICE division, and we now have almost 40 wonderful people working together. I used to work quite a lot (and pretty hard) in all divisions.

Finally, 21 years later, the business is solid; I have a wonderful team at the corporate and MICE division; and I am able to dedicate myself to my passion: experiential travel. I get to participate in designing both individual travel and the ones for our small incentive groups. Better yet, I get a chance to travel escorting our groups and be with them at picnics at the Sacred Valley, at Greek mythology classes at the Peloponnese, and bike tours in Cambodia. Our next challenge is our DMC Division to offer really special ways to discover Brazil and South America.
Can you share with us your single most life-enriching experience?
That has to be the moment I was diagnosed with breast cancer, at 39. I learned so much about what real problems are, and to value each minute and opportunity. That experience inspires me every day! Nowadays I am grateful for everything and that has truly become a happy, life-changing memory.
What does the term ‘experiential travel’ mean to you?
It means emotion; it means to create wonderful memories that will last forever. It may be learning, tasting, taking challenges or simply sitting still losing track of time, having time to hear your own thoughts.
Describe your ideal client: how do they approach travel?
They value each moment when they are travelling. They value luxury, but also adventure and experiences. They trust me. And of course have an open mind and a good sense of humour. Like one of my favourite writers (Martha Medeiros) says: “It’s no use taking the body on a trip if the soul won’t leave home.”
What made you decide to join PURE Life Experiences and how has doing so benefitted your business?
I am counting the minutes to go until Marrakech. I feel like I’ve found my tribe! These are people and brands that will inspire me when designing products for my clients when they travel abroad and also for our foreign clients, who are willing to discover our wonderful South America in a very special way.
What role do you think PURE has to play in the high-end experiential travel industry?
I think its role is not just to filter and connect members, but also inspire, ask questions, bring new subjects, keep raising the bar.
What other brands and companies in high-end experiential travel do you admire the most?
Six Senses, Aqua Expeditions, Iniala, Viajando com Arte…
If there were one thing you could change about the travel industry, what would it be?
All hotels would have just one public rate.

The list is huge. I love biographies, lectures and TED Talks… But I would like to mention a Brazilian one for you: Amyr Klink.
